ANIMAL, VEGETABLE, MINERAL 🐚🌿🪨

We’re thrilled to announce the exhibition marking the culmination of our 2025 FUSION Mentorship with Toronto ceramic artist Julie Moon @juliemoonceramics

Over eight months, twelve emerging and mid-career artists worked closely with Julie on form and surface decoration — refining their creative voices, strengthening technical skills, and exploring new directions in clay. The result is a body of work that reflects a year of growth, experimentation, and dialogue, spanning both functional and sculptural pieces.
We’re honoured to be hosted by Vessels + Sticks @vesselsandsticks , a curated gallery presenting contemporary ceramics that push structure, material, and form beyond traditional expectations. We couldn’t ask for a better place to share this work.

Late summer means dahlias, marigolds, and zinnias in full glory. Take it as your cue to start dreaming up vessels you’ll want to fill with them. 🌸

Flower Bricks with Joan Bruneau is a three-day, process-driven workshop exploring one of pottery’s most beautiful and functional forms. You’ll learn to throw, alter, and assemble flower bricks, working through cylindrical forms, oval and square bodies, lid systems, and foot rings; with plenty of time to experiment and refine along the way.

Joan Bruneau @bruneaujoan is an acclaimed Nova Scotia-based studio potter and educator whose slipware celebrates beauty in everyday life, informed by ceramic history, nature, and ornament.

Your registration also includes admission to Joan’s public artist talk on Friday evening: a wonderful way to kick off the weekend.

A year-long, FUSION member-exclusive mentorship led by acclaimed curator Rachel Gotlieb. Eight established artists will meet in Toronto for sustained mentorship, critical discussion and experimentation, culminating in a professionally documented group exhibition.

ESTABLISHED ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Our recurring feature in FUSION Magazine, celebrating the work and perspectives of artists with established practices across clay and glass.

Whether you’re ready to push your practice forward through mentorship or share your work and story with the FUSION community, September 15 is your deadline.
