In April 2022, FUSION partnered with the Deep River Guild of Potters workshop with Dan Hill on Atmospheric Firing.  The 5 sessions took place between April and June, 2022. The

introductory weekend was held at the lovely library event space in Deep River and the group also enjoyed a pot luck gathering. Dan Hill hosted the next three meetings at his studio in Wilno, Ontario. This smaller group of 10 participated in the hands-on surface treatment with their pique-fired pieces, in preparation for the group soda firing. The follow-up kiln unloading and critique session was very informative and everyone came away with enthusiasm and an enhanced understanding of the atmospheric firing

process.

Some special features of this event included a large dinner gathering Saturday, a lunchtime tour of the Deep River Potters Guild studio space, and two generous gift bags for the participants – a welcome gift from the Deep River Potters Guild and a going away gift of generous donations from Spectrum Glazes and Tuckers Pottery Supplies.
