This two-day workshop, taking place at Parkdale Pottery Dupont, is for potters ready to push past perceived limits. Throw Big or Go Home focuses on the physical, technical, and mental shifts required to throw larger forms with intention and control. Through live demonstrations, guided practice, and direct feedback, Kiefer Floreal shares the systems and mindset behind his approach to throwing big.
The first day focuses on preparation, efficiency, and setting yourself up for success. Day two builds on the foundations, encouraging scale, variation, and personal challenge.
This workshop is best suited to intermediate and advanced wheel throwers who are comfortable centering and throwing medium-scale forms and are ready to challenge themselves physically and technically.
By the end of the two days, participants will:
Understand the mechanics and preparation needed to throw larger forms successfully
Gain confidence centering and lifting substantial amounts of clay
Develop strategies for managing scale, repetition, and fatigue
Leave with large-scale thrown work and a clear path forward for continued practice
Fees for programs cannot be refunded. If you need help or accommodations, please get in touch so we can work together to support you.
