Much of my ceramics practice has developed independently, and I was looking for an opportunity to step outside that familiar rhythm. I sought dedicated time and accountability to explore early ideas, along with guidance from an artist whose work I deeply admire. As a primarily self-taught artist, I was also excited to have a collective sounding board and to exchange ideas with other artists.
I valued the opportunity to learn through Julie’s feedback and guidance, as well as through the different approaches, perspectives, and problem solving of the other artists in the group. The generosity and collaborative energy of the cohort challenged me to think differently about my own work and gave me renewed enthusiasm for experimentation and the directions my practice can take.
