Anne Kobayashi

I entered Fusion’s mentorship hoping to develop my practice and hone my creative direction after a hiatus from a structured art practice. Julie Moon, an artist whose work deeply resonates with me, facilitated a mentorship that was both inspiring and transformative.

My greatest challenge was navigating the technical trials of working through failed test tiles and forms. However, Julie and the diverse cohort she brought together created a supportive environment for sharing ideas, asking questions, and learning from one another.

Being part of this community has had a real impact on my work. Julie’s unique perspective and the group's ongoing encouragement provided me with the confidence to keep pushing forward when I otherwise might have given up.

This mentorship has not only supported the development of my work but has also led to deep, foundational friendships that will extend far beyond our sessions. Although the program has officially come to an end, for me it successfully represents the beginning of this next chapter in my creative practice.
